I am over the moon to have had three etchings shortlisted for this years Flourish Award! The work selected are from a body of work that explores the decaying abandoned Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory in Bristol.
Since 2014 the Flourish Award has been open to printmakers across the UK, and to celebrate their 10th year, the 2018 Award will provide artists and printmakers with the opportunity to exhibit work in a touring exhibition at the WYPW Gallery in Mirfield, PR1 Gallery at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, and Spike Print Studio in Bristol.
The award celebrates and showcases excellence in printmaking from artists based in the UK by shortlisting around 12-15 artists from open submission. It aims to commend creativity, skill, originality and innovation in print: from relief print and intaglio, to screenprint, lithography and more.
Exhibition at WYPW runs from 17 September – 29 October.
I am delighted to announce that I have had several prints selected for this years fair!
With over 250 specialist artists and exhibitors, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair is the only fair in London to deal solely in contemporary printmaking, and the largest of its kind in the UK, set in the impressive former carriage factory at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich.
Celebrating every aspect of printmaking - from etching and lithography, to woodblock and screen-printing, exciting emerging talent sits alongside established practitioners such as Chris Ofili, Paula Rego and Norman Ackroyd RA. One not to miss!
