What a crazy bonkers month August was! Massive thank you to everyone who supported myself and the other members of Bristol Print Collective. Your generosity provided us with the most amazing opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in our own practices, gaining new skills, experiences and creating international relationships.
Finding abandoned buildings was tricky, turns out the Danish do not like decay and dereliction. After a few days meandering around the city of Odense, I was delighted to finally stumble across an area which was in decline, the industrial harbourside! During the month I made a new body of work responding to my findings, experimenting with intaglio processes, stone lithography and mono-printing. The methods I used helped create a sense of authenticity and tactility, representing the marks that I were drawn to in the abandoned spaces that I had discovered. Below are some images of work in progress and final prints.
I am excited that my print 'McAurther Warehouse' will be hung at this year National Original Print Exhibition, held at the Bankside Gallery, London. The exhibition will be on from the 20th September to 1st October. For more details head here, www.re-printmakers.com

This August I will be spending the whole month in Denmark with the rest of Bristol Print Collective on an artist residency at Funen Printmaking workshop (Fyns Grafiske Vaerkste). In October 2016 we took a research trip to Denmark and visited the wonderful, warm and welcoming studio in Odense. We loved the ethos and general feeling the studio has, opening its doors to the general public to spread the joy of the printed mark. Once back in the UK we had a yearning desire to go back. We applied to become members of the studio, and was offered an invitation of a residency! I am very excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to fully immerse myself in my practice in the beautiful fairy tale town of Odense.
To continue our connection with the studio we are inviting a studio member from Funen Print Workshop to take part in a residency exchange with us and visit Bristol in 2018. We will connect the artist with the Centre for Fine Print Research at UWE and Spike Print Studio. We want to offer the opportunity for other artists and students studying printmaking to learn about Funen Print Workshop and to exchange ideas and processes with an artist from another culture. To make this happen we have created a kickstarter campaign. In return for your support there are a selection of rewards in return!
